Prior to consulting, Maureen Hanna was the Director of Legislative Affairs and Director of Reimbursement for Abbey Home Healthcare (now Apria Healthcare), one of the nation's largest home medical equipment (HME) companies with over 150 locations and $250 million annual revenues. From 1996 to 1998 she served as the Director of Reimbursement Operations for McKesson/HBOC, an industry leader in creating and managing innovative, value-added programs which are designed to enhance the efforts of the world's foremost pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device manufacturers.

Ms. Hanna has been in the health care industry for over 20 years. Her reimbursement experience encompasses physicians' offices, hospital services, pharmaceutical benefit management, and home care; requiring her to learn successful pathways in working with government and non-government payers of health care services.

In addition to a BS from California State University Fullerton and a certificate from UCLA in its Program in Management and Administration of Health Care Facilities; Maureen has been a contributing author to Home Health Care Dealer/Provider, Infusion, and RT magazines. Maureen was also the Writer/Associate Producer/Consultant to "The DMERC Transition" training video.

Ms. Hanna is currently the President of Healthcare Reimbursement Consultants, Inc. (HRC). Besides being a featured speaker at national trade shows, she has been a Carrier Regionalization Advisor with the National Association of Medical Equipment Services(NAMES) and a member of the Cigna DMERC Advisory Committee(DAC).

During 2002 and 2003 she has personally worked with HME providers and their legal teams to obtain refunds in excess of 10 million dollars from extrapolated Medicare post payments audits.
